TwixTalk is a private family communication platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

What We Collect

Your Account

  • Email address and password

  • Your name

  • Profile information you add (age, gender, location)

Family Circle Information When you add family members, you may provide their name, age, gender, relationship, contact info, and photo. All optional.

Content You Share You control what you share with your family: messages, photos, documents, calendar events, notes, contacts, or any other content. We provide organizational tools, but how you use them is up to you. Your content is private to your family circle.

Usage Data We automatically collect device info, app usage patterns, IP address, and location (city/state level). We use Google Analytics and similar services to understand how people use TwixTalk.

Cookies & Mobile Data We use cookies for login, preferences, analytics, and marketing. Our mobile app may request camera, storage, and notification permissions. Push notification tokens are stored for alerts and updates.

How We Use Your Information

Who We Share Your Information With

Service Providers Cloud hosting (AWS, Google Cloud), analytics (Google Analytics), communications (Firebase, email delivery), content moderation, customer support, and payment processing. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.

Marketing Partners We may share basic profile information (name, email, age, gender) with select partners in financial services, legal services, education, healthcare, and family-oriented products.

Important limits:

  • Teen users (13-17): Your information is NOT shared with marketing partners

  • Private family content (messages, photos, documents, notes): NOT shared with marketing partners

  • You can opt out anytime in account settings

Aggregated Data We may share anonymized data that can't identify you with partners, researchers, and the public.

Business Transfers If TwixTalk is acquired or merges, your information may transfer to the new owner. We'll email you 30 days in advance and give you the option to delete your account.

Legal Requirements We disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect rights, prevent fraud, or ensure safety.

Account Deletion: We delete your data within 30 days, except what's required for legal compliance. Backups purged within 90 days.

State Privacy Rights (CA, VA, CO, CT, UT, etc.) You have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of your personal information. Contact privacy@twixtalk.com to exercise these rights. We'll respond within 45 days.

Children & Teens

  • Intended Audience and Age Requirements TwixTalk is a private family network designed for and marketed to adults (18+). While families may use the app to coordinate support and communication for members of all ages, users must be at least 18 years of age to create a primary account. Children under the age of 13 are strictly prohibited from creating an account or using the platform directly.

  • Teens (Ages 13-17) Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may only participate in a private family circle under the direct invitation and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do NOT share any personal information of teen users with third-party marketing partners. Marketing data sharing is restricted exclusively to adult users (18+) who have not opted out.

  • Information Shared by Parents Parents or guardians may include information about their children within their private family circle for the purpose of care coordination. This information is considered "Private Family Content" and is NOT shared with marketing partners or any external third parties, except for essential service providers (e.g., secure cloud storage) required to run the app.

  • Parental Control and Deletion If we discover that a child under 13 has created an account in violation of our terms, we will terminate the account and delete all associated data immediately. Parents who believe their child has provided us with personal information can request immediate deletion by contacting us at privacy@twixtalk.com.

Child Safety Standards & CSAE Policy

  • Zero Tolerance Policy TwixTalk has a zero-tolerance policy regarding Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). We strictly prohibit the creation, uploading, or sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Any user found to be in violation of these standards will be permanently banned from the platform without notice.

  • Reporting to Authorities In compliance with federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), TwixTalk will promptly report any confirmed instances of CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and coordinate with law enforcement as required.

  • In-App Reporting Mechanism We provide an in-app reporting tool that allows any user to flag inappropriate content or behavior. All reports are reviewed by our safety team within 24 hours, and appropriate action, including content removal and account termination. will be taken.

  • Child Safety Point of Contact If you have questions regarding our safety standards or wish to report a concern, please contact our designated Safety Officer at: privacy@twixtalk.com.

Security & Data Retention

We use encryption, secure servers, and access controls to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure.

We retain your information while your account is active. After deletion, most data is removed within 30 days, backups within 90 days. Some data may be retained for legal or security purposes.

Other Important Information

International Users: Your information is processed in the United States, which may have different privacy laws than your country.

Third-Party Links: We're not responsible for privacy practices of other websites or services linked from TwixTalk.

Do Not Track: We don't currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals, but you can control tracking through cookie settings and account preferences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes affecting how we share information, we'll email you 30 days in advance. You can delete your account before changes take effect if you disagree. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
